26/08/2008 | Style, elegance and excitement returned to Warwick Farm Race Course on the weekend at the first racing day since the equine influenza outbreak. The day attracted around 6,000 people, including Gai and Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson. Grey gelding Racing To Win, ridden by Hugh Bowman, beat classy mare Gallant Tess by a long head to take out the feature event the Warwick Stakes, with Danzippo third.

25/08/2008 | Self-styled environmental campaigner Ted Trainer has converted his Voyager Point property into a teaching facility, showcasing his approach to protecting the earth, an argument that everyone should lead a ''simpler'' life. The Champion went along on a tour that he ran for a group of University of Western Sydney students studying the environment, to give them an alternative view about how the people of the world could live more sustainably together.

22/07/2008 | Liverpudlians and pilgrims from around the world are celebrating World Youth Day 2008 this week, with a series of masses and public events. Locals were treated to the official World Youth Day Cross and Icon walking tour, met with event volunteers and organiser, Bishop Andrew Fisher. Catholic churches and schools in the area provided nightly accommodation for more than 2000 pilgrims from countries including Tanzania, Singapore, Taiwan, Italy, Spain and many others. All Saints Catholic Church, in George Street, Liverpool was at the heart of several weeks of events in Liverpool with several masses, barbecues, youth gatherings and sing-alongs held there. This slide show is a collection of pictures from all of these events.
