Pilgrims sample Aussie hospitality

TRAVELLERS from around the world toured churches in Liverpool this week, attending both traditional Aussie barbecues and multilingual masses.

Churches including the Parish of the Good Shepherd, Hoxton Park, and the Parish of St Joseph, Moorebank, held barbecues so the pilgrims could experience a truly Australian meal.

They also hosted masses in Italian, Spanish and several other languages for the pilgrims.

Nancy Gentile from the Parish of St Joseph said the congregation was excited to meet their guests.

``We held a barbecue on our grounds, which was a nice, friendly way to welcome and get to know the pilgrims who will be hosted by our parishioners,'' Ms Gentile said.

Brother Pat Hurley of the Parish of the Good Shepherd said he enjoyed getting to know some pilgrims before the large events in Randwick. The church organised a pilgrim gathering, social events and a mass last Wednesday.
